Yes. We treat everything you upload as confidential, and we do not use your screenplays, shot lists or generated frames to train any model. We do not share them with anyone except the processors listed in our Privacy Policy — Microsoft Azure for storage and OpenAI for AI processing. Content sent to OpenAI goes through its API, which under OpenAI's own policy is not used to train its models. Uploads are encrypted in transit and at rest, you can delete a screenplay at any time, and if you delete your account we remove your data within 30 days.
No. StoryBirdie works with screenplays, treatments, creative briefs, and concept docs. Upload a PDF, DOCX, or Fountain file — whatever your writing tool exports. Final Draft, Celtx, Arc, WriterDuet and Google Docs all export one of these. That said, results are significantly better with a properly formatted screenplay — the structure helps our AI identify scenes, characters, and blocking with much higher accuracy. We recommend starting with a screenplay if you have one.
